Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Blaze has classic beagle good looks and charm, and in keeping with his name, he has a blaze of white on his adorable face! He weighs 25 pounds and will celebrate his fourth birthday on the first of September.
Blaze gets along well with cats and other canines but would prefer to be the one and only dog in your life. A home with minimal alone time would be best – he prefers to be with his people as much as possible. When meeting new people, Blaze is cautious but friendly – and treats go a long way in helping him make friends. A calm home that will allow Blaze the time he needs to build confidence and trust in his family would be ideal. Blaze has been around children 6 years old and up and does well with them if approached respectfully.
For a dog who spent his entire life living outside, Blaze has picked up on house training fairly quickly. He signals his need to go outside by pacing and going to the door. He will potty on a leash but would prefer to go in a fenced-in yard.
Blaze is a low-to-medium-energy beagle who enjoys being a couch potato – he loves to nap and lounge during the day and get all of the belly rubs he can. However, he does like going for walks and wouldn’t dream of missing his regular evening outing with his foster dad, running alongside him on his bike. Blaze loves spending time outside rolling around and doing cute little army crawls in the grass. A trip to the park or local ice cream stand for a pup cup will be a breeze as he rides well in the car.
During the day, Blaze will hang out in his crate, but at night he always sleeps in his comfy dog bed right next to the big bed so he can be close to foster mom and dad.
If you think this handsome young fellow might be a good fit for your family, his foster mom would be happy to tell you more about him!
NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).
