Beau is a sweet, shy dog who was abandoned by his former owner. Someone placed his bed and an empty bowl under some bushes and left him all alone. Neighbors said Beau had been living there for several weeks, patiently waiting for his owner to return, but they never came. A good Samaritan decided to take Beau in and get scanned for a chip. He didn't have a chip or a ID tag. They searched for an owner, even though it was clear he was abandoned.
Beau is a well behaved, good natured, affectionate dog who loves to cuddle. He's a medium sized dog weighing about 55 lbs. He's about 2 yrs old and healthy. He was seen by the vet, and given a thorough exam. Beau gets along well with his foster dog siblings, and even children. He's a great dog that will be an easy addition to any home.
Beau has the most amazing personality. He is very sweet and affectionate. Initially he was a little shy, but that's understandable given his situation. Now that he feels safe, a goofy, happy personality is emerging. Beau is smart, funny and sweet. He's house trained, rides well in the car and walks nicely on a leash. Beau is even great at bath time!
Please help us find a loving home for this very special boy. He is warms up to new people with a little time, but once he does, he bonds very deeply and loves to cuddle and get kisses. Beau is a dignified boy who is a bit of a couch potato and enjoys lounging around most of the day. Beau is good with smaller dogs, or non-aggressive big dogs. If you have a home with a fenced yard and lots of love to give, please open your heart and home to this sweet boy. He's had a tough start to life and desperately needs a safe and comforting place to call his forever home. If you live in the Southern California area, please complete our adoption application found on dexterfoundation.com Please share his story.
