My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!

I have lived with cats.

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.

I am looking for a home with a patient person.

Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!

What my friends at ACC say about me:

Oriole tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Due to the behavior shown, she may not be a great fit for young children. Any home with older children prepared to adopt this cat should conduct a thorough interaction and endeavor to monitor this cat around their children to prevent these behaviors from being reinforced.

A volunteer writes: Oriole is here and pulling out all the stops in her efforts to find her forever family. She has a whole bunch of party tricks that she's ready to share. Are you ready for them? Ok, so it's actually just one but she's probably open to learning more. Anyway, please check out her stretchy cat dance! Do you know about stretchy cat? Standing up on her back feet to rest her front paws on top of her den and curling herself in the most relaxed little C, Oriole is merrily ready to show that she can nuzzle, lean, and headbutt all while in her stretchy cat pose. I tried to play with her pipecleaner feather and offer her some treats, but Oriole seemed perfectly content and set on demonstrating her adorably affectionate multitasking moves. Oriole was brought to us with another cat buddy after their person passed away. She is trying so hard to find her forever family and hopes you'll come see her do the stretchy cat soon.
