Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Special Help Request!
Hello! My name is Octavia! I’m a little torbie kitten! I need help finding a special place for me. The nice doctor people said I have something called Feline Leukemia Virus. It’s a lot to say so we just call it FeLV. I really love my foster family, but I need a new place to stay. I can stay with other FeLV kitties, and also ones who are vaccinated! I promise I’m a good girl and I really like to play and purr and be held. I feel just fine!
Is there a family out there I can stay with until I’m adopted? Or maybe someone who is looking for a pretty girl like me to adopt now? I’m about 3 and a half months old, I’ve been getting my kitten shots, and I’ve been around teenagers, dogs, and cats.
Thanks!
Love,
Octavia

Octavia is very sweet and playful, and quick to purr when receiving attention. She's a sweet little lady!!
Caring for a kitty with FELV is pretty much the same as caring for any other kitty, except that they have a shorter life expectancy and it’s harder on them if they get sick. Eventually they may get sick from something and be unable to recover, but some cats don’t ever have issues. It’s a broad range so it’s hard to know what any particular cat will be. At this time, little Octavia is beautiful and perky, and happily living her very best life!!
Included with the adoption is the kitty's spay, all applicable birth-to-one-year FVRCP, FeLeuk and first round of rabies vaccinations, deworming, flea treatment, a wellness check, FIV/FeLV combo testing, and microchipping. In addition to being fully vetted, our cats and kittens are highly socialized. We offer a 2-week getting acquainted period and a 2-week wellness guarantee, so you can comfortably settle in with your new kitty! Please note, young kitties do best with another kitty in the household.
To apply to adopt, please complete an adoption inquiry at www.bluesmews.org so our adoption specialist volunteer can review it and contact you!
