Meet Howie, a vivacious adult dog with a heart full of love and a spirit brimming with energy. A lot of energy! His playful nature shines as he chases after toys, his tail wagging with pure joy. But he isn't just about play; he's a cuddle bug too, always ready for a snuggle session on a lazy afternoon but it'll need to be very brief because he has things to do. At 12 pounds, he's a perfect lap size. With other dogs, he's polite and cautious, displaying a well-rounded personality that's both easygoing and mellow. His curiosity is infectious, making every day an adventure. We don't know if he is house trained or how he'll behave around children but when he gets excited he can't help but nip so he'll need to live with kids at least 12 years old. He is perfecting his leash walking skills. Despite being abandoned, his friendly demeanor never wavers. He's a testament to resilience, a beacon of positivity. CAP adoption fees include a variety of services - age-appropriate vaccinations, canine heartworm, and feline leukemia tests, spaying/neutering, deworming treatment, microchipping to name a few - the total value of which exceeds $450. These minimal adoption fees cover only part of each animal's stay at our shelter - please help us keep adoption fees low while maintaining the high quality of care for the animals in our charge by donating and/or volunteering.

CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021.
