My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*** Fergus is at our PetCo Mira Mesa adoption center. ***

Gray/silver tabby, short hair, neutered male, born approx. 6/1/21, #19158

Cats: solo kitty
Dogs: unknown
Children: adults preferred

Fergus was a new arrival at a colony of homeless cats where there is a watchful caretaker who feeds them and gets any who need it spayed and neutered. Fergus had already been neutered when he showed up one day and started rubbing against her legs asking for food and pets. She scooped him up and took him in.

Fergus is a little rough around the edges from his time trying to fend for himself, yet he is a very nice and very sweet cat. He will twine around your legs and give head bumps. Fergus loves to be petted though prefers if you avoid his back end; he can get a bit overstimulated and turn like he might give you a nip to say that's enough but he's never made contact with his foster's skin. He's a fairly mellow guy who will hang out and chill in the room with you; he likes to sit next to you on the couch and will crawl on your lap on occasion. If you doze off, he's been known to be cuddled up with you for the duration. Fergus does get the zoomies once in a while and he vigorously uses his scratchers so it's good to have several options for him. He loves playing with interactive wand toys and is learning about other toys and how to play with them.

Fergus is not very keen on other cats and thus would be happiest as a solo kitty. We don't know his thoughts on dogs. He would do best in a quieter home with cat-savvy adults or older teens who know how to respect personal boundaries.

Fergus is a good loving cat who is hoping to find a happy home where he can be a wonderful companion to his human(s). Will you make his dream come true?
