My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rascal, a charming senior dog with a heart full of love to give! This sweet boy thrives on human companionship and will be your most loyal friend. Due to his sensitive nature, Rascal would do best as the only dog in the home, where he can soak up all the love and attention. If you've got a spot in the sun where he can stretch out to nap, and plenty of love in your heart, then Rascal is your guy! He wants nothing more than to find somewhere he can live out his golden years in the serenity that he deserves!

Rascal has some allergies that will require ongoing medication and a hypoallergenic diet to keep him comfortable and healthy. Despite these needs, Rascal's loving demeanor and gentle spirit make him a perfect companion for a patient and caring family. Open your heart and home to Rascal, and you'll be rewarded with endless love and devotion.

If you think this old boy could be a good fit for you, please contact the Kamloops branch with any further questions or fill out our pre-adoption questionnaire below.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
