My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Friendly, Affectionate, Smart, Curious, Playful. House-trained. Sandy, a Torbie
still needs a forever home since August 2022. She was rescued from a 38-cat
hoarding situation. She needs a home with no other animals as other cats
stress her out. One other cat might be okay, depending. She is petite but very
sweet and affectionate. She loves running water. About 3 years old. One photo
is of when Sandy was approx 1 year old. The other is recent. Please include
your location and phone number in your inquiry as spam filters most likely
block our response to you via email. The adoption fee is a donation to our
rescue. Amount at your discretion. Please fill out our online adoption
form:https://www.duetteanimalrescueteam.org/online-adoption-application.
Priority is given to that application. Manatee, Hillsborough, Sarasota, and Pinellas counties only. Thank you for caring.

More about this rescue

We founded the Duette Animal Rescue Team (DART) in 2020 in Manatee County. DART is a volunteer-based animal welfare organization dedicated to rescuing former domestic and exotic pets such as prosimians and cats with behavioral challenges. We learned about the plight for exotic pets held in captivity and lack of understanding of the care they need as wild animals. We support causes that advocate for the conservation of these species in the wild in their native countries. By working with a network of zo's, private owners, zoo staff volunteer advocates, foster caregivers, local veterinarians, trainers, and shelters,
DART strives to rescue animals and provide these animals with behavioral rehabilitation and care. We catch cats to assist with the management of stray cat overpopulation in the community. We rehabilitate the cats so that we can put them up for adoption and have a better quality of life. For example, cat litter box training and socialization.
