My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🌟 Meet Cora: Your Future Adventure Buddy! 🌟

Cora is the petite powerhouse you’ve been waiting for, weighing in at a charming 40 lbs! This little explorer hops into the car like a seasoned road tripper, and if she needs a lift, no worries—she’s got the spirit of a travel-loving sidekick! Whether you're strolling, running, or hiking, Cora is ready to keep pace and soak up every bit of the great outdoors. And guess what? She’s a water enthusiast who knows how to swim—so days at the beach, lake, or pool are her jam!

While she waits for her forever family, Cora is getting the royal treatment in her foster home. Reports say she’s a joy to have around, seamlessly fitting into her foster family's routine. She’s making friends with their other dogs, mastering house manners, and even picking up tricks faster than you can say “fetch!” Cora is house and crate trained, though she might let out a little whine when first crated. No biggie—she quiets down quickly! And when she’s free to roam, she’s a model citizen—no accidents, no chewing, just pure goodness. Cora loves to perch on chairs or even her crate, enjoying the view like a furry little lookout, sometimes dozing off mid-snooze!

Cora’s affection for her humans knows no bounds—she’s all about those lap cuddles and slobbery kisses! But don’t rush her; she prefers to get to know you first before diving into full-on affection mode. Once she’s in, there’s no turning back—prepare for endless love! ❤️

When it comes to furry friends, Cora appreciates a laid-back vibe. High-energy pups can be a bit much for her, so if she could have her wish, she’d love to be an only dog. She’s a social butterfly on walks and in playgroups, thriving in environments where she can explore and meet friends—both two-legged and four!

Cora is likely a pit bull mix and is estimated to be around 2 years old. She’s past the puppy craziness and has mastered the art of “right-place” energy. Whether it's an invigorating hike or a cozy movie night, she knows how to strike the perfect balance between adventure and chill time. Her ideal home would have a yard for her to romp around, but as long as there are plenty of opportunities for outdoor fun, she’s all in!

Cora has yet to meet any baby humans, but she’s fantastic with kids who can handle her enthusiastic wiggles. And she’s even cat-tolerant! When introduced to a resident cat, she was respectful and curious, giving him the sniff test without any pushiness.

If you’re on the hunt for a loving, active, and adorable companion to join you on all your outdoor escapades (and cuddle during the Sunday scaries), Cora is your girl! She’s ready to bring joy and adventure into your life and create countless unforgettable memories together.

Got questions about Cora or want her tested for a specific scenario? Just ask! We can make just about anything happen to ensure she's the perfect fit for your lifestyle!

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
