HISTORY:
Trapeze was originally adopted from us as a kitten, but was recently returned after a baby joined the family.
ABOUT:
Trapeze is a vocal, laid back, silly, loving guy. He loves a healthy balance of alone time, attention, and play. Trapeze has excellent inter-purrsonal communication skills. When he is feeling lonely he will meow to let you know he needs a friend. He enjoys sitting on your lap but will often gauge if you are interested in having a buddy at the time. If he thinks he needs a little more love he will reach out and paw at you.
Trapeze prefers his water fresh, like directly from the source, fresh. You’ll need to add a few seconds to your oral hygiene routine as he’ll need to grab a quick drink before you start. When Trapeze is feeling spunky he likes to loudly verbally announce his zoomies before they take place. Everyone should gather ‘round to watch his epic feats of speed!
Trapeze loves attention, he will even roll over at times to ask for a belly rub or two. If you’re lounging around watching a movie he is happy to settle in and join you. As affectionate as he is, Trapeze also enjoys a good amount of alone time, usually napping in the cat tree or watching the birds through the windows.
Trapeze is being fostered with cats he has figured out who likes to play and who doesn’t. He enjoys playing with one of the other cats, and socially distances from the others. At times he prefers to be left alone and he will give anyone a quick, appropriate, hiss if he isn’t in the mood to play. He is equally respectful of the other cat’s preferences and does not bother them when they ask. Trapeze was also being fostered with a gentle large breed dog until he gained his wings. Trapeze was nervous at first, but had become comfortable with him given time to adjust. They were mostly ships passing in the night, as Trapeze wasn’t really interested in direct interaction, and the dog is fine with that too. He will likely do well with dogs who are content to be roommates, not besties. Trapeze is not being fostered with children. He does like to roughhouse and bite when he plays, so older children will be a better fit.
After a bout of painful urination we learned that Trapeze is prone to urinary crystals, so he will need to eat a prescription urinary food. He is currently on Royal Canin Urinary SO. He will also likely do best in a calm, predictable household. He will do best with low-stress, easy-going feline companions. His ideal home will love his affectionate side, while allowing him to have quiet alone time too.
