PETRIE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name:   Petrie        Best Guess for Breed:    Lab and terrier mix

Best Guess for Age:  7 months as of August 17, 2024          SEX:     Female

Estimated Weight:   21 lbs as of 7/17/24; she is still growing!

Gets Along With:  Petrie loves other dogs! She has done wonderfully with kids she's met on leash but hasn't loved with them. We haven't seen her with cats but she can be tested

Currently Living at:  DC Area Foster

Petrie is Looking For:  Her forever home! Petrie is no longer a tiny, squishy puppy but she is still an older puppy and hasn't seen nearly enough of the world. She is oh so eager to have her own humans for long sniffy walks, romps in the park, and world exploration! And for snuggles and cuddles and all those good things that come with being a well-loved dog. She'd also love to go to dog school so she can show off how super smart she is!

What do you say? Is Petrie the one you want to wake up to for many, many days to come?

What her foster says about her: She's an incredibly sweet girl, very sociable and loving with other dogs. Loves toys and to play fetch! Small but mighty! Petrie came into our home a few weeks ago and was so reserved - now, she has brought so much joy to our little family. Her favorite foods include steak, strawberries, chicken broth, and bacon bits. Her favorite activities include jumping on Tipps (my German Shepherd mix), stair diving because she has no fear factor, chasing the laser pointer, and bed time cuddles. Petrie is working on basic prompts and catching on fast as long as she has snacks as a motivator. All in all Petrie is the life of the party and any family would be privileged to have her as a companion.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!

Go meet their pets

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.
