Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Salt is an affectionate, silly, loveable 1.5 year old Pointer/Labrador Retriever mix who is the definition of a velcro dog. This 55lb medium sized boy just wants to be by your side getting loved on all day every day! One of his favorite things to do is go outside and roll around on the mesh dog cots we have here. It must feel pretty good, because he always makes a series of hilarious grunts and groans when he does it! He thinks it's the ultimate back massage!
Salt came to us off the streets of Houston with his brother, Pepper, who has already been adopted. Salt has always been the shy one towards people but when he and his brother were still puppies, he acted like his brother's protector! He likes to act all macho at first, but he's really just a big ole mush who wants your love.
Salt is a dog who thrives on routine and he'll often have a brief panic if something changes- such as moving his crate slightly. We like to say that he's on the spectrum because he's so peculiar about the way he wants things! True to his nature, Salt is reserved with new people at first. Once he gets a feel for your lifestyle and the way you do things, he quickly runs in stride with it and attaches to your hip!
Salt isn't much of an active dog, but he does occasionally get the zoomies when he's feeling a little bit crazy! He thoroughly enjoys being around other dogs, especially if they practically worship him like his adoptable friend, Roscoe, does! Salt would be happiest in a quiet home with at least one other dog to accompany him. While he would prefer to have a canine sibling in the home, he would also be content with just a human who is home most of the day and can give him all the attention he wants. He is good with pretty much all dogs of different sizes, ages, and genders, and is also good with respectful kids.
Salt is located in Houston TX but can be transported to most US states for adoption.
