Abby (SC) is a female Hound mix who was estimated by our veterinary partner to be 1 year old at the time of intake in July 2023, and only 33 pounds. She was found wandering and standing on a road with skin blackened and thickened from mange, underweight, and in rough shape. She has since been with our veterinary partner and has received treatment. Her fur is growing back in nicely, and although she still has a little ways to go yet in continuging to get her fur back, she is ready for her forever home! Abby (SC) is good with people and other dogs, and she seems okay with cats. She is a sweet girl, our veterinary partner said there she is timid at first, but that lasts about 30 seconds before she becomes very social. She is great on leash, but may not be ideal for busy, noisy city life. May be better suited to suburbs or rural areas. She is crate trained, and would be fine with older kids. She is great with both dogs and cats at the vet. If you would like to adopt Sadie, and invite her into your comfortable, loving home as a family member well loved and safe, please put your application in here: www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org
Please also be sure to reference her name as Sadie (SC) in case of duplicate names within the rescue. Thank you!
RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue. All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption. Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter.
