Baylor (AL) is possibly a male Great Pyrenees mix estimated to be 16 weeks old at the time of intake in July 2024. Baylor is up to date on core vaccinations (age-appropriate) and is microchipped and neutered. Baylor is good with people and other dogs. Baylor's stunning good looks and gorgeous eyes will turn your heart to mush! Baylor is a doofy, fun, playful, happy boy who thinks the world is his playspace. He has no idea that he's homeless or came close to losing his life in a shelter. He's just looking for love in a forever family. Baylor is a very good boy. He's super smart, eager to please, and very treat motivated - a great combo for easy training. He's crate trained and sleeps through the night in his crate. He knows sit, paw, spin, touch, and he's learning to walk on leash. He's also learning that "jumping will get you nowhere.". Baylor would likely be happier living life in the suburbs rather than the big city. He's interested in meeting new people, and he is quite a charmer. He can be a bit nervous meeting new dogs, especially if they run up on him, so his Person will need to learn his body language and create space for him when he is scared.
Baylor would be happy in a home with or without other dogs. If he's in a home with other dogs, ideally there would at least be one confident dog to help show him the ropes. He's a pretty typical adolescent pup, he pushes boundaries wherever he finds opportunities This can be managed by limiting access to opportunities through a structured environment. He'd thrive in a quiet-ish but active home, and would be great with older kids and/or dog savvy kids (he easily gets overwhelmed if there's a lot of chaos). He is more comfortable eating in his crate so he can feel safe, but this may not be necessary once he settles in and gains confidence. If you would like this super cute boy to take his place in your family, please apply online to adopt Baylor (AL) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org. His adoption fee is $575.
