MEET SHILOH! Shiloh has been here since July 16th.
Shiloh is a 7 month old adolescent white Labrador retriever clocking in at approximately 52 pounds. Shiloh’s claim to fame is his handsome looks and puppy like demeanor. He enjoys playing with any and all toys, tennis balls, plush squeaker toys, rope toys, you name it he will play with it. He enjoys the company of people and other dogs. One thing he’s really taken too is clicker training – he yearns for the clicker when we are out on walks. He behaves politely when we are working on his basic behaviors which in turn improves his impulse control! He has had a lot to learn in his short life because his over-exuberance can be intimidating to people which is why he has been returned to us a couple of times. He is looking for an experienced dog owner that will commit continue with his clicker training and impulse control training so he can be successful in his life. He would enjoy the company of another dog in the home but it’s not a requirement and kids teens and older because of his exuberant behavior. Shiloh is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed/neutered, microchipped and been seen by our vet team.

Situated 10 miles southwest of Boston on the beautiful grounds of the former summer sanctuary for the city’s working horses, ARL’s newly remodeled shelter in Dedham, Massachusetts is just a glimpse into ARL’s bold future. The new modern shelter design allows us to provide even more animals with high-quality direct animal care that meets best-practice standards in animal welfare.
The 27-acre property serves as ARL’s main livestock center and is home to Pine Ridge Pet Cemetery, the oldest continuously operated pet cemetery by a humane society in the United States.
