My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Tina Tuna, the cynic of the century. I ended up here at the shelter due to a mishap involving a can of tuna, a vacuum cleaner, and my previous owner's priceless Ming vase. It was an innocent curiosity that led me to that vase, but let's just say it didn't survive the encounter. I'm a bit skeptical of humans now, but I'm willing to give them another chance. I've got a knack for making people laugh with my big chin and quirky attitude. So, if you're looking for a cat with a sense of humor, I'm your gal.More information? More about this shelter

Marion Area Humane Society is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization incorporated in 1967 under ORC 1717. We strive to educate, assist and protect the animals of the Marion area. Since 1986 have operated a shelter to provide a humane environment for homeless animals. In 2011 several generous donors and grants made it possible for a shelter renovation and addition of a separate intake section. MAHS operates a open-admissions shelter with a guilt and fee free surrender policy, to encourage owners who can not properly care or maintain proper living conditions for their pets to do the best thing for the pet. MAHS also provides humane investigations and a spay/neuter voucher program for Marion county.
