My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bowser, the charming three-legged marvel, is a veritable paragon of canine resilience and joy. With a coat as soft as velvet and eyes that twinkle with an almost mischievous glint, he prances about with an air of regal nonchalance. Despite his tripod status, Bowser exudes a boundless energy that rivals even the most exuberant of four-legged companions. His joyous barks are a symphony of delight, echoing through the house as he engages in his favourite pastimes – be it a spirited game of fetch or a gentle cuddle on a rainy afternoon.

This splendid chap is the epitome of companionship, possessing a heart as vast as the British countryside. Bowser's endearing nature is evident in his every wag, a testament to his indomitable spirit and unyielding affection. He navigates life with a cheerful grace, his tail perpetually wagging as he explores every nook and cranny of his domain. Bowser’s capacity for love is simply boundless, offering an unspoken promise of loyalty and endless joy to whoever is fortunate enough to welcome him into their home.

Additional adoption info

The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application (applicant must be at least 23 years of age). Once your application is received a volunteer will contact you to discuss your application. All references listed will be contacted, along with a call to your veterinarian to make sure your current/former pets are/were up to date on all vaccinations. We also complete a background check and home visit will be performed. Once all that is complete, and application is approved, we will arrange meet and greets with our adoptables that may be a good fit for your family and lifestyle. If a perfect match is found, an adoption contract will need to be signed, along with an adoption fee.

All of the above steps are then reviewed by the Chi-Town Pitties, Inc. Board for final approval. Once your application is approved by the Board, we will move forward with scheduling adoption interactions with potential dogs that are a good fit for you and your family.

More about this rescue

We are a small 501c3 nonprofit rescue, committed to leading with our heads rather than our hearts, to help quality dogs find quality homes.

We work closely with area shelters to get as much information as we can about the dogs we take in so we can be as prepared as possible to provide for their needs as we place them in well-matched foster homes. If you would like to join our team of fosters, expect us to have a close ongoing relationship with you as you help your pup get ready for their permanent home.

If you are looking to adopt, expect us to get to know you, too, so we can help you find the dog that will thrive best in your home situation. Like big dogs in general, pit bull type dogs tend to have big personalities, and are an athletic bunch (they even power nap). They aren’t right for every owner, but not every person should be allowed behind the wheel of a Maserati either.

Wondering if a pittie is right for you (and if you are right for them)? Talk to us!
