Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Balto von Balesfeld is a stunning, 1-2 -year-old Husky. If you’re looking for a champion-category boy who also happens to be gorgeous, well… believe it when we say that you’ve just found him! He’ll come out with you calmly for whatever outdoor adventure you have in mind and delight you with his companionship and leash manners. He'll walk close to you, honoring your leadership, and meet other dogs like a gentleman - even when they end up face-to-face with him! Precious Balto has a relaxing, medium-energy level, seems housebroken, LOVES receiving scratches all over his body, knows “Sit” and “Down” and leans against you to remind you of how much he loves you, taking treats gently. He shines in playgroups, where he shows what a great greeter he is - exploring the yard, doing play-bows to the other dogs and never forgetting to check in with the staff present (like the good boy he is). He's not for kitties, however. Begin an awesome love and devotion journey with this treasure by your side by submitting an application for Balto today!
Rescued by us - running around lost near the rescue.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN Balto von Balesfeld YOU MUST FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: www.sheprescue.org
Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.

In order to adopt any dog from Westside German Shepherd Rescue, one must fill out an adoption application first. Upon receipt of your application, a Westside adoption counselor will contact you.We do aerial home checks and you may be asked to supply pictures as well as arranging for a home visit prior to adoption.
Adoption fees vary with each dog and typically range from $150 to $500. They are set, taking into account the dog's age, training level, temperament, if they’re newly arrived, medical condition(s) (if any) and other factors. Adoption fees are used not only to rescue and place the dog you are personally adopting, but to aid in the future rescue and rehabilitation of other deserving dogs. Adoption fees are necessary; without fees, our rescue efforts would quickly come to an end. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations.
ADOPTION DAYS
