Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sweet, spirited Levi has a way of stealing hearts—and sometimes snacks! At just two years old, this charming boy has been with us for 162 days, and while he’s settled in beautifully, he’s also packed on a few extra pounds. Levi’s absolute favorite thing in the world is treats, and saying he loves them is truly an understatement. Levi isn’t just a treat enthusiast—he’s a treat detective! If you’re too slow at handing one over, don’t be surprised if he takes matters into his own paws and noses around in your pockets to find his prize. This boy knows what he wants, and he’s not afraid to go after it!
But the journey to becoming this happy, food-loving pup hasn’t been an easy one. Levi came to us as a “Texas street kid,” abandoned and left to fend for himself in the sweltering heat. He was heartworm-positive, battling hookworms and whipworms, and missing far too many meals. His condition told the story of a dog who had been neglected for far too long.
Since arriving, Levi has undergone heartworm treatment—completing the process in late August—and is now four months into his recovery. He’s doing exceptionally well and is thriving under our care. These days, Levi spends time in the diet yard, burning off energy and working towards a healthier weight.
Don’t let that cute face fool you, though—Levi is a runner and a “squeezer,” always looking for an opening to dash through your legs for some freedom. His playful, high-energy nature means he’ll need an active, dedicated family who’s ready to engage with him. While he doesn’t demand a daily five-mile walk, he’d probably love one! Levi thrives on activity and companionship, whether it’s with his human family or furry packmates.
Levi is a testament to resilience and the power of a second chance. If you’re ready for an adventure buddy with a big heart (and a big appetite!), Levi just might be your perfect match. He’s waiting for a family who will love him as much as he loves them—and, of course, treats. Apply to adopt Levi today!

More about this shelter
We are committed and wholeheartedly dedicated to providing family and emergency services involving rescuing, sheltering, fostering, vetting, adoption and transportation of
"at risk" or "death row" husky and other large dog breeds.
Our goal is to not only provide these services in larger facilities than we currently have but also to use our resources to educate and raise public awareness on the benefits of properly caring for and keeping their pets and/or adopting from shelters and not shopping from breeders.
Our mission is to share our knowledge on the pro's of spay and neuter, the cons of backyard breeding and provide sound advice and services that help the community manage their day to day with their furry family members. Together, we can greatly reduce the number of unaltered, unvaccinated animals in our communities and put a dent in the homeless population by providing access to family services as well as spay, neuter and chip id programs.
