Izzy is 3yo, weighs 52lbs, is spayed, is up to date on her vaccines, and is microchipped. Izzy knows 'sit', 'stay', 'down', 'leave it', 'paw' and 'crate'. Izzy stays in the mother-in-law suite during the day. At night, she sleeps in the main home in a spare bedroom. Izzy tolerates car rides but can be nervous at times, as she shakes and pants. Izzy's guardian adds: "Izzy is a sweet and ultra cute 3 yr old Canaan Dog originally from Israel! Izzy is house-trained, crate trained and loves dogs. Izzy is a sensitive girl and takes time to warm up to new situations and environments. With proper acclimation, Izzy attends
"Izzy is a sweet and ultra cute 3 yr old Canaan Dog originally from Israel! Izzy is house-trained, crate trained and loves dogs. Izzy is a sensitive girl and takes time to warm up to new situations and environments. With proper acclimation, Izzy attends doggy daycare, rides in cars, and boards at kennels with ease. True to the Canaan Dog breed, Izzy is wary of strangers, and requires help and management dealing with unfamiliar people approaching or entering her home. Once she trusts you, she is an affectionate sweetheart who loves treats and belly rubs. Izzy’s favorite form of exercise is playing with other dogs. Once tired out, she happily snoozes the day away. She would greatly benefit from having a confident dog sibling to help show her the ropes. Will transport Izzy to the right home."
Izzy's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome her:
"Izzy cannot safely coexist with our elderly cat. She has a high prey drive and chases him. As a result, they both spend much of their time confined to rooms. We have tried 4 trainers with limited success."
Izzy's guardian offers a brief a medical history: "Izzy takes gabapentin to assist with general nervousness."
Izzy's guardian states the following regarding children: Although Izzy hasn't lived with children, her guardian recommends her living with children, stating "Izzy is aloof with strangers and generally keeps her distance from kids and people she doesn't know".
Izzy's guardian states the following regarding dogs: Although Izzy hasn't lived with dogs, her guardian recommends her living with dogs, stating "Izzy loves playing with dogs, especially dogs her size or bigger. I think Izzy would really benefit from having a dog sibling to help build her confidence and feel more comfortable in new situations".
Izzy's guardian states the following regarding cats: Although Izzy lives with a cat, her guardian doesn't recommend her living with cats, stating "Chases our cat. Not sure about cats outside our home".
Izzy's guardian describes her as:
Shy

Nervous

Izzy's guardian describes her ideal future home:
"Izzy’s ideal home would be quiet or rural with property for her to explore and run around. I think she would thrive with a dog sibling to help build her confidence and feel comfortable in her situations. Izzy does not need a lot of attention or walks, she just needs a patient home that will make her feel safe and loved."
