Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Rocket is a super sweet, lovable but “grumpy”, cuddly, snuggly sour patch kid. He makes himself at home anywhere, but he gets easily overstimulated. We’ve experienced cats who, once they know stability, most times calm down from overstimulation as they mature. At this time he is not recommended for young children who might not understand his boundaries or signals. He previously had a bully-breed dog companion and gets along with other personality-neutral cats. He loves being on your lap or beside your head on the pillow.
Rocket’s urinary tract was blocked one month after being neutered and he had successful surgery to unblock. We are feeding him urinary food & distilled water as a precaution and completed X-rays in March to clear him for adoption, ensuring he has no crystals currently. Rocket MUST HAVE a stable home. He cannot move because of a possible recurrence of the urinary blockage. HE NEEDS A HOME WITHOUT ANY STRESSFUL SITUATIONS. He is about one year old, has had a rabies vaccine, FVRCP, and has been dewormed and deflead. He’s an impeccable litter box user but does prefer a large box to himself. We recommend frequent cleaning to avoid any potential stressors. The adoption fee is a donation to our rescue, the amount is at your discretion. Please fill out the adoption form ON OUR WEBSITE: https://www.duetteanimalrescueteam.org/online-adoption-application. Priority is given to that application. Manatee, Hillsborough, Sarasota, and Pinellas counties only. Thank you for caring.

More about this rescue
We founded the Duette Animal Rescue Team (DART) in 2020 in Manatee County. DART is a volunteer-based animal welfare organization dedicated to rescuing former domestic and exotic pets such as prosimians and cats with behavioral challenges. We learned about the plight for exotic pets held in captivity and lack of understanding of the care they need as wild animals. We support causes that advocate for the conservation of these species in the wild in their native countries. By working with a network of zo's, private owners, zoo staff volunteer advocates, foster caregivers, local veterinarians, trainers, and shelters,
DART strives to rescue animals and provide these animals with behavioral rehabilitation and care. We catch cats to assist with the management of stray cat overpopulation in the community. We rehabilitate the cats so that we can put them up for adoption and have a better quality of life. For example, cat litter box training and socialization.
