For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.
Since April, when 3-year-old Nash was rescued from Baldwin Park Shelter in South LA, he has been living in a foster home. He is now ready to meet his forever family!
His foster mom describles Nash as full of energy and love. He's playful, goofy, and loves to cuddle! He does well with the other dogs in the home, including those much smaller than him. Nash would be fine as an only pet, too.
Nash is house-trained. He is also crate-trained for when he is at home alone, and he sleeps in his crate overnight.
Nash weighs about 75 lbs. and is very strong. He would do best in a home with a yard to run in and with a family that has the time to take him on long walks/runs or hikes.
Nash is sometimes reactive on leash to other dogs, but otherwise, he doesn't bark much. His foster mom has been working on his leash manners and using the command "leave it" now works 90% of the time! His forever family will need to be consistent with Nash, so he continues to make progress towards being the best pup he can be.
Nash's foster mom had his DNA tested, and these were the results:
46% American Pit Bull
24% Akita
15% German Shepherd
8% Chow Chow
7% Bulldog
Nash adds up to be 100% lovable!
