Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi I'm Apollo. For the past couple of months I have been on a journey to learn to trust kind humans. You see, I was living at a high school with my siblings and parents before I arrived at Mission Meow Cat Rescue and was placed in a foster home. It was a little scary at first because there were a lot of changes. It took me some time to realize that my foster parents were very kind and were teaching me some very important life skills.
For example, I have learned that there is a special noise that represents treat time and I drop whatever I am doing and run as fast as I can to get to the treats before my siblings do. I can be very quick when treats, or toys are involved. I have been given the nickname of “the launcher” because I quickly learned how to launch myself over the pet gate so I could go on a walkabout around my foster house.
At my foster home I have made friends with the big cats and a dog and sometimes we hang out together. I have met different people and like to hang out with my foster dad watching TV. I tend to be on the shy side in unfamiliar environments or around people that I don’t know. That changes as I become more familiar with the new environment and feel safe. And as far as new people go, if you want to be my friend quickly you might want to bribe me with a few cat treats (wink, wink).
I have five siblings, but I am only with two of them right now (Hercules & Athena). My wish list for the perfect home includes: being with one of my siblings( or another age appropriate kitty companion at home); being in a less active/quiet home; having a patient family; maybe having a kitty or mellow dog friend and lots of toys. I will be a great kitty companion if you just give me (and one of my siblings) a chance.
***Complete Information
You get to speak directly to the foster family who have the kittens in their care!
No one knows the kittens better than the people who have had them for the last several weeks or more. They will give you full details as to personality, background, quirks, likes/dislikes, ETC. Since adopting a pet is a commitment for the next 15-20 years, you want as much information as possible to make the best decision.
***Private, quiet meet & greets
You get to visit the kittens in their own current environment where they run free so their true personality shines through. Our kittens arenât subjected to noisy stores and stressful cages and you wonât be competing with other annoying people for your desired kittens.
***Quality over Quantity
We are a small rescue so we can focus on each kitten individually to provide personalized medical & socialization protocols. Because we do not overcrowd, our cats do not pass contagious diseases to each other.
***Veterinary Care
We balance a mix of holistic & conventional protocols to keep our kittens healthy. We use high quality disease preventatives & medication when necessary. Mission Meow only wants the best medical care for our kittens, so we donât skimp on those costs AT ALL. We work closely with our vet to come up with a plan for any kittens who may be ill and to prevent any unnecessary and over medicating. Three local veterinarians have adopted from us after observing the quality of our kittens.
***FOOD:
Our kittens are nourished with high-quality food. We âve been offered free /discounted food from other companies but we choose to use the best option even if it costs more for us.
***Resident Pet/Child Safety
While no one can guarantee the health of any living being, we do our best to make sure your adopted kitten does not have any issues such as parasitic worms that can be passed on to your resident pets or children. We have a very thorough deworming protocol using the best products on the market and the proper duration. Most places adopt kittens while they are in between showing signs of intestinal worms. Not us.
***POST ADOPTION SUPPORT
It is extremely rare that we have any issues post adoption, but if there were any that presented themselves, we would work with you towards a resolution. We pride ourselves on the one-on-one relationships we build with our adopters.
By private appointment in Rocklin/Roseville/Lincoln/Citrus Heights/Auburn CA area, or at Bark Avenue Rocklin

*****ADOPTION PROCESS:*****
APPLICATION:
Please contact us and we will send you an online application. A response is usually given with 24-48 hrs if we think it's a potentially good match.
INTERVIEW:
An adoption counselor will contact you via phone to answer any questions and if it seems like a good fit, arrangements will be made for all parties to meet with desired cat(s) at a mutually agreeable time.
APPROVAL:
If adoption is approved, a contract and adoption fee to cover veterinary costs will be required. You will be given medical files.
TIME FRAME:
Based on volunteer availability, it is possible for all adoption steps to be completed the same day, however, it is not guaranteed. Please note that occasionally a home check, vet records/references, etc may be required and multiple people may be interested in the same cat(s) so additional time may be necessary. You are also welcome to get the kitten an appointment with your own veterinarian at your expense prior to adoption, just be aware that may delay the adoption by several days.
WHY:
Our adoption vetting process ensures a proper feline fit for your family. You may be a wonderful pet owner but may not be the best fit for a particular cat, or other extenuating circumstances. Also, YOU may know you are a good pet owner, but we don't. We exist because too many people view pet ownership as casual or disposable so we want to be sure the best match is made for the next 15-20 years. Your patience and understanding as to where we are coming from are much appreciated. Our adoption process is also reflective of the extremely thorough medical protocol our kittens receive. Thank you!
