Gus has been through lots of training since his arrival at Longmeadow and is ready to find a special, patient adopter who can continue this training at his forever home! When Gus arrived, he was terrified of humans. We don`t think he had any handling at his previous home. It took our staff weeks of training and desensitizing before he could even be led around the barn. After a lot of trial and error, our trainers found that this introverted mule did best with a single person working with him. He does not do well with large crowds, or even multiple people. He enjoys spending one-on-one time with calm, gentle handlers, but also needs someone who is not afraid of correcting his unwanted behaviors. Gus makes progress with us every day, but it has been a slow process since he came back from professional training.
Gus is a connoisseur of snacks. He is not a picky guy. He enjoys positive reinforcement with treats when it comes to training and gaining trust. He enjoys taking walks around Longmeadow with our trainer and meeting new animal friends. He gets along very well with other equine and tends to be in the middle of the pecking order here at the Ranch. With an experienced mule adopter, we think Gus would flourish! His beautiful coat, big ears, and nice size shows amazing potential. We can`t wait for him to find his person...is it you?
