My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Colby is an adventurous and curious kitty who loves to explore every corner of her world. While she loves to bask in the breeze from her window perch, her inquisitive nature leads her to discover new places and things, making her an exciting companion to have around. Not only does Colby enjoy her solo adventures, but she also loves playing with her siblings. Whether it's a game of chase or pouncing on toys together, her playful spirit shines through.

Colby was found with her two siblings and has been lovingly fostered together since she was a little baby kitten. Her early start in a nurturing environment has helped her develop into the affectionate and social cat she is today. Plus, she gets along well with other adult cats, making her a great choice if you already have feline friends. Colby would love to be adopted with one of her siblings to keep their bond strong and ensure double the joy in their new home.

FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) is not a big concern. Given proper care and attention, an FIV+ cat will live the same lifespan as an FIV negative cat. The disease is extremely hard to transmit from cat to cat, requiring direct blood contact (typically from a deep puncture wound). It is not transmissible to humans. Go to https://resources.bestfriends.org/article/fiv-cats-feline-immunodeficiency-virus-faqs for a basic FAQ.

If you're looking for a lively inquisitive kitty who is confident and social, Colby is the perfect addition to your home!

More about this rescue

Kitten Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to finding loving homes for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens. We rescue cats and kittens from the streets of Los Angeles and from City Shelter euthanasia. Since our start in 1997, we have grown into one of the largest, most well-respected animal welfare groups in LA.

Kitten Rescue volunteers adopt out over 2,000 cats and kittens into homes every year. We educate the public about responsible pet guardianship, how to care for kittens and cats, and the importance of spaying and neutering. Kitten Rescue makes educational material available via events, print, school presentations and here on our website. We also provide Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) assistance for communities in and around Los Angeles, and teach people how to manage and care for feral cat colonies.
