My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hadley is a 1-2 yr old pure red. We rescued her from a high kill overcrowded shelter in southern Utah. She is an exceptionally smart coonhound! She learns things after 1:00 or two lessons. She is excellent with all people and other dogs, her size and bigger. She needs a slow supervised introduction to smaller dogs so she knows they are not cats! She cannot be in a home with cats. She is fairly quiet for a coonhound and stays nicely in any size yard. She is active and energetic and needs the same in an owner. Coon need lots of exercise but equal amounts of couch snuggle time. Coonhounds are inside dogs!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

You will be emailed an application to fill out. If you do not have computer access readily available, say you are looking at this on a friend's computer or at the library, please state that if you leave a voice mail. You will get priority on the call back list. You must be a homeowner, or renter (with ONE YEAR minimum signed lease) with proof of permission to have a pet. You MUST have a fenced yard, very few exceptions. All current pets should be spayed/neutered and current on vaccinations. You will provide a veterinary reference. No pets will be adopted for any use other than companion animals.
An adoption contract will be signed at time of adoption. All pets remain under jurisdiction of S.C.P.R., and can be re-claimed at any time that you are found to be in breech of contract. Read the contract thoroughly and know what you are signing.
We wish to make a good match the first time, so please understand that these policies are in place to protect the dear animals we are dealing with. A pet is a lifetime commitment, please choose wisely and make your decision based on this fact. All adoption fees are non-refundable.

More about this rescue

We are a non-profit, 501-C, volunteer group. We are made up of several animal lovers, all volunteering time, money and effort for the animals we foster. All animals are fostered in individual volunteers' homes, and so are well known by the time they are ready for adoption.
All animals are spayed/neutered before leaving, unless this is not possible due to age, in which case a spay/neuter contract will be signed, and is strickly enforced.
Some of our requirements for adoption include a fenced yard, all the way, not partially! Being a homeowner, although renters qualify too, with a signed landlord pet release and reciept of a paid pet deposit. It won't hurt that all current pets in your home are spayed/neutered, as this shows responsibility and good pet ownership. We will ask for a veterinary reference, so have that info handy when you call.
We strive to make the perfect match the first time, and so you should expect a thourough interview from our adoption center volunteers. We have a 90% sucess rate making these matches. We hope you can become one of those sucesses!
