A Little Bit About Us

Floyd and Clay get along very well and would love to be adopted together. It takes longer for Clay to adjust to new places, but once comfortable, Clay loves to hang out, get a few pets, and play wand toy.

Floyd is the social butterfly of the group! His bad eye doesn't slow him down and he is eager for loads of head rubs and playtime. Due to his impaired vision, he is looking for an indoor home.

More about this rescue

We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
