(11/30/2023) April is a new foster pup with a sweet face and ready to find a happy, loving and devoted family to share all of her tail wags and wet kisses with! She does give the sweetest, softest little kisses! April is a sweet, tender, and mild mannered girl.
April's foster home has several other dogs in it, and she gets a long with all of them. So a home with a fun, playful, and confident 4-legged sibling(s) would be the kind of forever home April is looking for, so she has a doggie buddy. April is still just a pup so make sure you have lots of fun dog-appropriate toys and chewy things for her. She'll want a variety to keep her budding brain active and occupied. She will want a family that wants to add some activity and action into their lives!
April enjoys her fenced in yard and definitely will want a 4ft+ solid fence in her forever home. She is known to go out and play for with her siblings and then is happy to come back in and be with her family. She is good in her crate and will even eat her meals in there but that isn't required. She has all but perfected house training and already knows to go to the door and "knock on it" to go out. She is also learning basic commands like "SIT" and will want a family that will continue to teach her to be well behaved adolescent girl.
A home with a family member home a good amount of the time would likely be best for sweet April. She is also learning about new sites and sounds and gaining confidence with happy voices and positive reinforcement. This girl will be a devoted and loving companion! She is a quiet, curious, and sensitive girl; just give her a few minutes to warm up, and she will melt your heart.
April hasn't meet children or kitties yet. With her nature, a quieter home is probably better than a house full of young ones dashing around.
We don't think April will get too much bigger and will be a nice medium size pup with a giant heart! She will give you more love than you could ever imagine!!
As part of April’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org. If you wish to adopt April, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website: www.pawsforlifenc.org.
