My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

(11/30/2023) Miss Mable is young, cute and ready to find her fur-ever family. If sleek, black, shiny coat and sweet, sensative, soulful eyes is what you are looking for, then meet Ms. Mable!

Do you have a dog that would like a nice furry friend to join the family? Mable would love having at least one other friendly pup in her new family and a nice fenced in yard. At her foster home, she has several doggie siblings that she has as her buddies as well as a fenced yard which she can be found playing and relaxing in. If you are lucky, you will catch her laying down after some romping around with "frog legs" in that cute splott position.

Are you looking for a snuggle partner at bedtime? Well, Ms. Mable would be happy to to take on that very important job! When her foster mom turns out the lights and heads to bed, Mable is right there with her. She'll keep you company, warm, and you may get the benefit of sweet little snores.

Mable is still adjusting to her new, happy life and is a little shy with strangers but is super, duper sweet. She will need a person that is patient and kind. She is already crate trained and goes in willing when she knows her foster mom is leaving. Ms. Mable is also fine having her meals in her crate but it isn't required. She has also all but mastered the trick to going out to potty, if she goes to the back door and notifies her foster mom, she will be let out to potty...smart girl.

We haven't had an opportunity for Mable to be introduced to kids or kitties.

Mable is just learning about leashes and going for walks as well as basic commands. She is treat and food motivated and is eager to please, so continued positive training with her new family is what Mable wants. There's lots for this beautiful girl to learn and if you want to be the one sharing lots of new experiences with her and be the center of her world, you won't be disappointed in the love you will receive!

As part of Mable’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Mable, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

1. Review the description of the pet you are interested in to make sure that the information we have fits with your particular needs and desires. In most cases, the information on the website is current and gives the information that we have about the particular pet. The picture of the pet does not tell the whole story.

2. Complete the adoption application at https://pawsforlifenc.org. Please make sure that you give us as much information about yourself as you can. List all animals currently living with you including other dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and rodents. The application needs to be complete in order to help us determine if the pet you have chosen is a good match for your home.

3. Once the application is submitted we will contact you, your references, and your vet.

4. We require a home visit prior to dog adoptions.

5. If more than one person applies, we will go with the BEST fit. If all things are equal, we go in the order the applications were received.

6. Once the home visit has been completed, you will be asked to complete an adoption agreement.

7. The adoption fee is $325 for dogs under 6 months, $300 for 6 months and older. The adoption fee is $125 for kittens under 1 year ($225 for 2 kittens), $85 for cats 1 year and older. This fee helps us to provide the necessary medical care and other needs for the pets while in foster care.

8. All Paws For Life NC pets are spayed or neutered if old enough, current on shots, micro chipped, and to our knowledge, in good health before they are adopted out. Puppies under 6 months of age will require a $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee and a special puppy spay/neuter agreement. Kittens under 6 months will require a $50 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee. We are all volunteers and receive no monetary compensation for our work with the pets. The adoption fee is used to help defray costs in the rescue and care of the pets.

9. Congratulations! You are on your way to having your new companion. We hope that you and your new companion share a life of love and happiness. We welcome any comments you may wish to give us about your pet at any time.
