My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Robbie! This 5-year-old Corgi blend weighs approximately 17 lbs, and is ready for a safe, cuddly home!

  • General Behavior: Robbie is a mellow pup who is wary of new experiences or people. He’s at his happiest when he’s with someone he’s come to trust.  He will even offer a little happy dance whenever they return home!

  • Likes & Dislikes:  Loud noises, strangers, and too much action isn’t a fit for this chill boy. He’d prefer to cuddle on the couch or rest his chin on you during TV time.

  • Training:  Robbie gets spooked easily whenever he encounters surprises, so consider him a flight risk as he could easily bolt out a door. He’s fully house trained when let out on a regular schedule.  It’s best to keep any socks off the floor, as he does nibble when bored!

  • Medical: Robbie is a healthy boy! He just needs his monthly flea and heartworm preventatives.

  • Other Animals:  Robbie is submissive and ADORES other pups who aren’t too hyper or in his face. He has the most adorable tail wiggle upon seeing another dog and would do best in a home with another laid-back pup that he can keep learning from.  Robbie is in a foster home with a cat and is fine being around them.

  • Children: Due to Robbie being a flight risk, he needs a home with responsible and respectful teens (13 and older).  Teens need to understand they cannot leave doors open or leave him unattended.

  • Home: Robbie would be great in a single-family home with a fenced yard and another pup to help him learn the steps of “being a dog”. He would love to be in a home where his new human is home more often than not.  He rarely barks, but an apartment may be a little too busy with people coming and going.

  • Grooming: Robbie will need only basic grooming like nail trims and baths.

  • Overall: This pup just needs a quiet home where he can relax and give all the love in his wiggle butt to someone who can prove to him he’s safe and wanted.  And most of all . . . loved!

Are you ready to show this boy all the love he deserves? Robbie would love to love you! To find the application to adopt, visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org. All of his remaining vetting is included in his adoption donation of $300.

We are a foster-based rescue organization and do not have a facility. We have all events posted on our website each month.

More about this rescue

Poodle and Pooch Rescue is a 501(c)3 non profit organization that saves dogs that truly need help. We rescue the "leftovers" from animal control, the dogs nobody wants because they're older or suffer from neglect, abuse or have a medical need. Their "last" day becomes the first day of their new life. We provide the veterinary care they need, a foster family they love and when they're ready, we adopt them to a family who cherishes them. We do not have a physical shelter because every dog lives with one of our foster families. We are all volunteers so your tax-deductible donation goes directly to help the dogs. We have saved over 5,500 dogs since 2008.
