Did you see that flash of gold? That was me! Sorry I didn't stop to say hi, I'm a busy guy with places to go and people to meet!
Fiji is certainly a busy pup - only a year and a half old, weighing in at 9.4 lbs. he's a mix of Chihuahua and Yorkie. He's playful and very affectionate. That being said, he's leery of people and other dogs - at first! After the initial growl, when he realizes that you're not a threat he's an instant best buddy. He's a tad possessive of his person and not always happy to share your lap. He enjoys children - wags his tail like crazy but, if they move suddenly (they're children) he will bark at them, which is scary. Great with them about 7 or older. He lives with seven other dogs, some he gets on great with, some could care less about his growls, and some who just stay out of his way. We would definitely have to have your dog and Fiji meet first. If you're looking for an only dog, he would be perfect. He was an owner surrender - an older lady just couldn't cope with his energy level. He's an extremely handsome little guy, golden fur with a curly mohawk done his back, bright eyes, and an extreme cuddle bug. I don't think he's ever met a lap he couldn't snuggle into. He will also be your constant companion and go everywhere with you! An apartment would not be ideal for him as he will bark when he hears anyone outside. He sleeps in a crate at night and is just about perfect with his 'pottying' outside. I think he would love to spend the night in bed with you if that's your preference. If I fall asleep on the sofa I'll wake up to him curled in tight next to me. He's also great in his crate at night - no barking!
Let us know asap if you're interested in meeting this little heart breaker. as I'm sure he'll be adopted quickly.
He's fully vaccinated, neutered, heart worm negative and microchipped - ready for his next adventure!
Adoption fee is: $375
ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com.
Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee.
Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs.

More about this rescue
CAMO Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers life, health, and a forever home. We specialize in dogs that other rescues can’t or won’t take due to fearful nature or medical needs. We primarily rescue ‘euthanasia listed’ animals that are in immediate danger of death. We provide shots, spay/neuter, microchip, foster homes, food, medical treatment and love to dogs that are abandoned, unwanted or otherwise in need. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. In addition to caring for our dogs and finding the best possible home for them, we provide education to the community; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership. If needed, our rescue dogs are retrained to socialize in an adoptive loving family. We have had phenomenal success, and amazing support from our community. We believe that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans have domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for them. We are partnered with many Shelters to help them reach the same goal.
