My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I'm Smokey! I'm just a kitten, but I've got lots of love to give. I'm super sweet, friendly, and playful. I love a good game of chase the string, and I'm always up for a cuddle. I've been told I'm quite the charmer with my gentle purrs and soft nuzzles. I may be small, but I have a big heart and I'm ready to share it with you. I'm looking for a forever home where I can give and receive all the love in the world.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
