My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Martha was found as a stray and has really become a favorite of our team, because she's just so enjoyable to be around! Now this girl is ready to join her new family. She may need a little time to come out of her shell when in a new environment, but with a gentle approach and lots of positive reinforcement, Martha is full of potential!

When Martha is ready to go for a walk with our volunteers, they tell us that she prefers to set the pace with a slow and steady walk so she can take her time to stop and sniff. As you can see in her photo, she also enjoys the occasional good roll in the grass. She will sit politely for her favorite treat - hot dogs!

For her comfort, Martha is available for adoption to families with children aged 10 or older during this stressful transitional time. Come say hi to her today!

How to Adopt from Foothills Animal Shelter:
Visit the Shelter or one of our offsite adoption partner locations to find a pet. Once you’ve decided on an animal, you should check with staff to see the status and history of the animal. At this time, you can fill out an adoption application and visit with the animal.

We recommend you bring all family members to the Shelter to meet with the animal before you consider adopting. If you are interested in adopting a dog, bring any household dogs to the Shelter to determine if it is a good match. Also, if you rent your home, please bring the pet policy in your lease or rental agreement and contact information for your landlord.

Once your application is reviewed, you can pay the adoption fees and take your new pet home. It may take some time for your new pet to adjust to its new environment. If you have questions or concerns after adopting, please contact us at 303-278-7575.
