My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet Tutti Frutti, Black Raspberry, and Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl! They can be adopted out individually (if you have a current piggie who needs a friend), as a pair or as a trio! All 3 of them are very friendly and come right over to meet you. They squeal with excitement when they see us and start jumping around when they know it's time for their daily salads! They were surrendered to DPR when their owner could no longer take care of them. They like to explore, to burrow around in their hay, to cuddle together and to be held and petted. They are really awesome guinea pigs and would make a fabulous addition to your home!

All our guinea pigs see the vet for a wellness visit and nail trim prior to adoption.

Guinea pigs have wonderful personalities- they are gentle and we have yet to come across any who bite, and they keep a daytime schedule! They form close bonds with their people, similar to cats and dogs. Did you know they are able to recognize people based on scent, sound and sight?! These sweet animals make wonderful pets!

If you are interested in adopting, pleas fill out a 'Guinea Pig Application'   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms

Adoption fee is: $60 total for the pair

Can’t adopt? Consider donating! We are always in need of hay, pellets and guinea pig enrichment!

This website is updated daily.  If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as 'available for adoption', that means the animal is still in DPR's care.

*Please note - we do not do on-site meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the guinea pig's foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the guinea pig. You can pick your guinea pig up 'curb side'. Guinea pigs can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *

DPR guinea pigs receive a vet check up prior to adoption!

We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.

More about this rescue

Visit our site at www.DelawarePuppyRescue.org if you are interested in one of our pets.

DPR was established in 2004 as a 501(c) non profit organize and an all volunteer rescue organization. We are not a shelter. We rescue both cats and dogs. We care for these pets in our foster homes until proper and stable homes are found through a multi-step adoption process. Our ultimate goal is to match families with our pets so that they live out their lives in loving, educated, safe homes for the remainder of their lives. Our additional goals in rescue are to educate the public in the importance of spaying/neutering and exposing the truth behind pet store puppys and the horrors of puppy mills.
