My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bridges and her litter mates were all rescued from the Oregon Fire in Elk WA, in the summer of 2023.  At just a couple of weeks old, they were found with no sign of mama and the fire getting close.  Their  foster mama jumped in to foster them until they were ready for their forever home. While growing up the kittens were all raised around kids, cats and dogs. The Irish wolfhound in their foster home immediately decided they were hers and the kittens still love snuggling up with her.

Bridges is very playful and enjoys playing with other cats and dogs.  She likes climbing her tower and wrestling with other cats.  She is also a purr monster and the minute you touch her she starts purring and doesn't stop. At the end of the day Bridges loves to cuddle up in your lap and snuggle.

Bridges is a special needs as she has Cerebellar Hypoplasia which causes her significant balance issues but in no way dampens her joy of life.  She has a funky walk that is more like a waddle and will sometimes fall over but that doesn't stop her from running around and playing.  She also has a head tremor/shake which can make eating and drinking a bit more challenging but she has learned a few tricks and can now do both quite well on her own.  Despite her "wobbles" as we call them, Bridges is just like most other kittens and just needs a little extra TLC.

Cerebellar Hypoplasia is a developmental condition in which the cerebellum of the brain fails to develop properly. The cerebellum is the portion of the brain that controls fine motor skills, balance, and coordination. The condition is not painful or contagious.

Bridges comes spayed, microchipped (including registration), dewormed, up to date on vaccinations, she is also negative for feline aids and leukemia. Bridges has an estimated date of birth of 7/19/23. Her adoption fee is $85. To be considered to adopt, please apply today!

‍ We do require either adopting a pair of kittens, or having another cat in the home for the sake of the kittens. Please take this into consideration before applying! ‍

Transport is available to approved adopters throughout the PNW!

Additional adoption info

How it works-

If you are interested in adopting with us, the first step is an application. We will call two personal references and a veterinary reference (if applicable). The next step is a home check which can be done via sending in a video, or at the time we bring the animal over for a meet and greet.

Go meet their pets

We do not have a facility or hours of operation. To meet available cats or kittens, the first step is to submit an adoption application. Once approved, a meet and greet can be arranged!

More about this rescue

The POUNCE Alliance is a federally licensed 501c3 non profit, feline focused, foster based animal rescue. We heavily focus on TNR (trap-neuter-return) of feral cat colonies to minimize the number of felines born outdoors without proper resources to live and thrive. Thousands of cats are born outdoors every year in our community and the focus of POUNCE is to combat the issue with spay/neuter, vaccinations, and medical treatment. With TNR comes many found kittens, tame cats, and sickly community cats who we cannot ethically return back to their home. This is why POUNCE also has a foster and adoption program for adoptable and "hospice" cases who are either tame or are too fragile to return to the outdoors.
