My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

11/22/24 PUPDATE: HAL IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! LAS CRUCES, NM: HAL here (Hal-acious "D") is a young (7 mos), active pug mix who is still waiting to add some love, laughter and goofiness to a furever family! He is current on all vaccinations, microchipped, neutered (I also had his rear dew claws removed) , he's microchipped is leash trained, knows verbal and hand commands, plays fetch and rides well in the vehicle!! He's rough n tumble and plays with with dogs of all sizes, however, we do not advise a home with very small animals or children. Please contact Laurie to set up a meet n greet for this rough n tough social butterfly or to have an ADOPTION APPLICATION emailed to you! We encourage pre-adoption sleepovers as well as foster-to-adopt too!!

PUPDATE: HAL was neutered, received his 3rd round of vaccinations and was microchipped. He also had his rear dew claws removed He's happy, healthy, playful, affectionate and ALL BOY!

8/5 PUPDATE: HAL received his 2nd round of vaccinations and a quick checkup last week. He loves playing with his puppy sister and trying to play with the big dogs too! His personality is big, just like him! He's getting strong and has gained some decent weight - I think he has a brick stuck inside him! Ha Ha!

7/24 PUPDATE: HAL's growing and getting taller - he's estimated to weigh about 10 lbs. now HAL's personality is pure joy! He's a sweetheart and has his crazy moments of excited zoomies around the room playing with his toys! He's kennel trained, is not a barker, loves walking on leash and playing with toys! He rides well in the car. HAL's will receive his 2nd round of vaccinations tomorrow 7/27.

HAL was rescued along with several other discarded puppies and a litter of newborns in the 100 degree desert on the outskirts of Mesquite, NM on Fri. July 12, 2024. He was the only puppy to survive and miraculously, other than being a little dirty and thin, he is pretty healthy! He has received a thorough vet exam, his first set of vaccinations and has been dewormed. HAL will due for his 2nd round of vaccinations the end of July. He will be due for his 3rd round and rabies vaccinations the 3rd week of August. We require him to be neutered by 4.5 months old-- which is 1st-2nd week in September-- with proof of surgery provided to us. His estimated DOB is 5-5-24.

HAL is super sweet and affectionate! He sleeps well through the night but is on a schedule with the other dogs. He is a medium energy sweet puppy who is very good natured and not a barker. He is being leash trained, kennel trained, pee pad trained, and rides very well in a vehicle. He gets along with all other large and small dogs of all ages!

Other than a pug breed, anything else would be a fun guess! Please contact us if you have questions or would like an adoption application. We require a completely fenced yard. W

We encourage meet n greets and a sleepover for qualified adopters.

Additional adoption info

Please call Laurie West at (575) 313-7232 with questions, for more information or for an Adoption Application to be emailed to you. We match our dogs' personalities and energy levels to potential adopters' lifestyles and continue to have a 99% adoption success rate. Once the Adoption Application is approved, we've had a telephone interview and home and yard photos are received, we encourage a meet and greet at our Rescue Ranch (location depends on where the rescued dog is currently living) and if that is successful, a 3 day sleepover prior to adoption. We do not transport our dogs but will adopt them out of state if the adopter makes the time and care to travel to our Ranches.
