My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dale is a very Handsome and Sweet boy! He is the type of cuddly where he almost wants to crawl into your body. He wants to be with his people at all times.

He is very loyal and smart. He uses the doggie door and can be left in the house uncrated when I run errands. Dale is almost too loyal since he is jumping on his foster mom's lap at every single opportunity. He is being fostered with 2 large dogs. Dale is very playful with smaller dogs, but he seems to get intimidated playing with my dogs since they are 60 and 90 pounds. They try and he just walks away. With small dogs he plays hard and loves it!

Dale is great off the leash and loves to ride in the car. He always tries to stick close to me so he can sneak out the door and jump in the car. He goes with me every day to pick and drop off the kids at school and loves that.

Dale bonded to me (foster mom) immediately so if adopted into a house with a male, I would suggest the guy walk and feed him to help the bonding process go faster. He does cuddle on my husband, and with more time that has gone by, he is gravitating more and more to him. He is just shy at first so naturally feels more comfortable with a female initially. Also likes to snuggle and kiss the kids, but he can be a little timid so when they are calm, he wants to give them affection. I have to remind the 6 year old to avoid the crazy moves near him because it makes him walk away not sure what to do with that energy.

Dale is a 1.5 year old rat terrier mix. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccinations. He weighs approximately 15 lbs.

He likes other dogs and enjoys playing with them. Walks well and love his walks and toys in the house.

His foster home has a 6 year old and a 17 year old boy. Cats unsure, but I think he would be ok!

If you would like to learn more about Dale and schedule a meet and greet, please reach out to Brittany at brittanyladrech@yahoo.com. An adoption application can be found on our website at valleydogs.org

Thank you!

*other small dogs in photo and video were originally in the same home and surrendered to us together. They have found new homes. If someone is looking for 2 small dogs to adopt, we should have one of his siblings that is younger (puppy) if interested in adopting a two-some:)

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

At Valley Dogs we make every effort to place the right animal in the right home. To aid in this goal, we use trained Adoption Consultants to help you select the best match for your lifestyle. You will meet with an Adoption Consultant and discuss your lifestyle, activity level, expectations, likes/dislikes, and past experiences with animals. Your consultant will then recommend the best match for your family and your lifestyle.

Go meet their pets

We do not own a kennel / shelter type facility. In most cases, we believe one of the effective and successful ways to match families and pets is to foster them in our own homes. Fostering dogs allows us to help train the dogs to have good doggie manners and allows us to learn about the dog's personality and character. Ultimately allowing us to give potential adopters complete information on the pet's behavior and how well he / she will fit with a family and lifestyle. Unfortunately, when we are not able to find the most appropriate foster home, we will on occasion utilize a private kennel on a case by case basis.
