My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption Fee: $200, plus taxes
Location: Foster Home

May is a petite little girl who loves to play and snuggle. Just under a year old, May had three beautiful kittens who were recently adopted. With her motherly responsibilities complete she has rediscovered her kitten energy and plays with her toys, tossing them around and proudly carrying them in her mouth.

May has made an incredible transformation since she came to us. She was extremely cautious and scared for the first two weeks. She slowly realized we were there to care for her and her babies. Now she is so loving and cuddly.

May has a cute scrunched up ear that formed as a kitten from rubbing it when she had ear mites. It doesn't bother her and just gives her a unique look. She has silky soft medium length hair and a loud purr. She is great at using her scratching posts and litter box. If you are looking for a tiny young kitty with a playful and affectionate personality then May is your girl!

May does well with the resident cat in her foster home, and would likely do well with other kitties with slow and proper introductions.

May is spayed, microchipped and is current with vaccinations.

Go meet their pets

While we are a foster-based animal rescue and all of our dogs are in foster care, we do have a cat adoption space at our new Adoption & Wellness Center in Chaska. We also partner with local retail locations like PetSmart Richfield and Chuck & Don's Chanhassen to feature adoptable cats at their stores.

More about this rescue

Carver-Scott Humane Society was founded in 1989 with the mission of connecting animals in need with people who care. Our vision is a world where every animal is safe, cared for, and loved.

In 2017, we introduced a new, innovative rescue philosophy based on our Four Pillars: TNR, Serve Where You Save, FurKeeps, and Adopters Welcome. As of 2018, we adopt over 500 dogs and cats into the community every year, with a nationally reported Live Release Rate of 97%. We serve over 1,000 Minnesota pets and their families annually through our surrender prevention program, FurKeeps, aiming to keep pets out of the shelter system in the first place.

CSHS focuses on serving and saving Minnesota pets, and we do not transport animals in from out of state. We do our best to prevent surrender, which creates capacity for us to transfer most of our animals from high-volume impounds and shelters throughout the state. For the past three years, we have transferred more animals from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control than any other animal welfare organization.
