Here's what the humans have to say about me:
******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************
We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.
Marla, 1.5 years old, spayed female, Catahoula/Pitbull Terrier mix, 48 pounds. She is in a foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS and can transport out of State once an adopter is approved.
Marla is a stunning girl who was saved from euthanasia at the county shelter in Houston, Texas. She is being fostered with several other dogs and has excellent dog manners. She plays gently with other dogs and has normal energy when playing. Marla is adept at picking up cues when another dog wants to stop playing, making her a considerate playmate. She gets along well with dogs of all sizes, from Chihuahuas to Labradors, including Pitbulls. When meeting other dogs, Marla is friendly and reacts neutrally on a leash, showing no signs of pulling.
We have no history with cats or kids. Given her gentle nature, we think she would do well in a home with children. We are always looking at homes who understand and respect animal boundaries.
Marla is well-behaved on a leash, walking calmly next to her handler without pulling. She is fully housebroken but tends to chew on furniture and shoes. Crate training has been partially successful; she only stays crated for up to 30 minutes and cries loudly if people leave the house while she’s crated. Marla shows no issues with food aggression and does not need to be fed separately. She handles toys, bones, and treats well without any problems.
Marla has a low energy level and can be a couch potato. She does not require another dog in the home for company. When left alone, Marla does not need to be crated and can be left unsupervised in the house, where she will typically sleep.
Described as perfect and independent, Marla is affectionate and enjoys playing with toys. She happily greets strangers without jumping up and remains calm during car rides. She has no issues with stairs and generally gets along with everyone and everything.
Her ideal home could be any environment, as she adapts well to various situations. Marla is truly a perfect dog, ready to bring joy and companionship to any household.
***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***
