Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Grace is a timid little soul who weighs just 9 pounds but carries a heavy past. Rescued over the summer alongside a group of street dogs, Grace was the most reserved and frightened of the bunch. Her rescuer often found her hiding in small, makeshift shelters-whether in dirt holes or under cars-peeking out cautiously to observe the world from a safe distance. One of her eyes appeared injured, and the other was clouded-later, it was discovered that she likely had been shot with a BB gun, and her injured eye had to be removed.
Grace is still learning to trust people. She needs a quiet, patient home where she can continue her journey toward healing. A family who understands that building trust with her will take time and gentle encouragement will be essential. Grace is not yet ready to seek out human affection, but with the right environment and lots of kindness, she will blossom in her own time.
She deserves a home where her new family will honor her pace, offering her the stability and love she so desperately needs. If you have experience with shy, fearful dogs and are willing to put in the time to help Grace feel safe and loved, she may be the perfect companion for you. Grace may be small, but her spirit is mighty-she just needs someone to show her that humans can be kind.

The Street Dog Project is comprised of a small group of volunteers who are passionate about saving street dogs in Dallas, TX. The majority of our team was previously heavily involved at another local street dog rescue but left for various reasons over the years. We wanted to save more lives so "got the band back together". We are an experienced team of rescuers, operating under a new name.
We have a lot of experience capturing elusive street dogs and helping them adjust to life in a loving home.
The dogs are taken to the vet upon rescue so they can be examined, dewormed, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (and treated if positive) and attend to any other medical needs. Life on the streets is tough so a lot of the dogs we take in have beyond basic medical needs. Heartworm, mange, leg and eye injuries are some of the most common medical conditions we encounter.
We are an all-volunteer organization and rely on donations to save lives. Donations can be made by clicking the "donate now" button on our Facebook page or visiting www.thestreetdogproject.org. Thanks for your support!
