My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Patrick is a sweet, affectionate and playful dog with moderate cerebellar hypoplasia. He came to Murci's Mission from a local family losing their housing and unable to continue care. Patrick has an estimated birthdate of 01/01/2019.

Patrick can get around with some support, but he does fall and roll around often. He can live in any household, and covering sharp furniture corners and the edges of mantles and stairs etc. He eats urinary tract health food to control UTI's, and he is house trained as long as he's taken out routinely.

Patrick has no behavioral issues and he loves other dogs and cats. He's good with kids and enjoys attention from anyone.

Patrick and Portia may be adopted individually or as a pair.

Both Patrick and Portia are microchipped, come fully vaccinated and dewormed, and are spayed and neutered. They will come home with medical records and a leash and collar, support harnesses, as well as a sample of their food. Their adoption fee is $200 individually or $200 for the pair. To apply to adopt, please begin by visiting www.murcismission.org and sending in an application.

More about this rescue

From the day we could talk we told our pets more than we ever told our parents. We took the long route to see the kitty in the window down the street. We stopped even when we were late to pet the dog. We grew up and we saw what the world does to those who can't defend themselves. We are here to change that.

Ethical rescue, including fully vetting every animal and carefully placing them all into homes matched to their physical and mental needs is what we do.

Respecting all life, both animal and human, while retaining an underlying goal of keeping animals in their homes. and fostering a sense of community between local shelters and rescues is how we do it.
