My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

** Hot Tamale is currently in a foster home, and she is available for adoption! Email applications@chicagocaninerescue.org to set up a meet + greet! **

Meet Hot Tamale, a spirited Frenchie mix with a personality as fiery as her name! This small but mighty pup is brimming with charm and playfulness, making her a delightful companion for the right owner. However, Hot Tamale comes with a unique set of needs: she has a bite record and requires an experienced handler who understands her behavioral quirks. Hot Tamale thrives with structured training and a consistent routine, so a background in managing complex dog behaviors is essential. While her exuberance and affectionate nature will endear her to you, she's best suited to a home without young children or other pets, where she can be the center of attention and get the care she needs. Hot Tamale is loyal, loving, and ready to bring joy and laughter to an experienced and patient owner who can provide the stability she craves. If you're ready to add a little spice to your life and have the skills to help her flourish, Hot Tamale might be the perfect match for you. Contact us today to meet this fiery little lady and see if you're the right fit for her forever home!

More about this shelter

CCRF was founded in 2001 to help find permanent, loving homes for homeless dogs in our city. In just over seven years, CCRF has saved the lives of over 2,000 dogs, cats, kittens and puppies.

CCRF now assists the animals that are the MOST vulnerable in Midwest - the dogs and cats that are slated for euthanasia because they are too old, too young, injured, have disabilities, or have simply been overlooked for too long by potential adopters at other shelters.
