About Rebel: Hi everyone, my name is now Rebel. I am a tiny cream Shiba Inu rescued from an Arkansas breeding facility with 8 other Shiba Inus. My name is a Fourth of July theme – without the rebellion of a few, we would not have freedom for the many. I am a small and dainty female Shiba who is estimated to be 6 years old. My foster mom noticed I had an odd gait, so DC SIR will have this checked out. I am in need ofdental care, as is nearly every AR pup. When I arrived at Shiba HQ after a long drive from AR, I got in a scuffle with a couple of the other dogs who were let out of the crate too. DC SIR volunteers didn’t punish me, they just separated us while we slowly adjusted to our new environment. I realized I wasn’t going to get hurt by anyone, and I started to explore the grass. I got to feel it under my feet for the first time in my life. Soon, I was taken to a shower for a bath and trimmed my very long nails, which splayed my paws open. It felt weird to walk on my paws without the pressure of my nails in the way. Maybe that is why I walked weirdly! We’ll see. Since being in foster, I love to sit on my foster mom’s lap! I will even come to the couch and reach up for her to pick me up and hold me. I get along with all the dogs and the resident cat too! I am still very nervous, and I pace the house. I don’t like being in a crate at all so my foster mom will be setting me up in an xpen when we can get one of Amazon wish list. DC SIR thinks I will be a very popular pup, so if you think I’m a good fit, apply for me today!
