Tahiry is a lovely smokey brown, adult pooch about 4 years old. She's got a warm, friendly side but she's finding her current circumstances a little much. She's feeling shy. She wants to know that she's going home. With a little patience, Tahiry is going to come out of her shell and then: bring on the treats, let's leash up for some walks, where we can find the good smells. She will be up for the adventure. In fact, this lucky dog recently went on a field trip with a devoted volunteer, and they shared. "We took Tahiry out today and she was just phenomenal!!! She then jumped into the car without any issues. When we were walking her, she didn't pull a lot and was easy to redirect her with a soft leash pull. Seeing other dogs, she would stand and look but did not bark or pull much. Some dogs, she was not even interested in at all. She played in the water fountain which was so cute! She's a gentle treat eater and is treat motivated. She is super friendly to all, and she loves pets and scratches. I think she had a wonderful time. Tahiry is perfect." Meet this fabulous dog soon!

More about this shelter
At the Humane Rescue Alliance, we honor more than 150 years of commitment to protecting animals, supporting families, and advocating for positive change to create a world where all animals can thrive. HRA serves as a national leader and local champion for all animals.
LOCAL FOCUS
With a people-focused, community-based approach, we treat every animal as an individual and emphasize specialized care for both animals and their families. Through our five campuses in the District of Columbia and New Jersey, we are the largest animal services provider in our region – touching the lives of tens of thousands of animals annually through direct rescue, care, and community-based services. Our teams find solutions to both small and big problems, from providing direct care to an animal in crisis to tackling systemic barriers to affordable, pet-friendly housing.
