Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Rootbeer was a stray from the San Diego Humane Society who made his way to Frosted Faces Foundation in May 2022. At FFF, he was never without a stuffie in his mouth, enjoyed going on our weekly Sunday FFF hikes, and did well in our play yard with the other small Frosted Faces, too! Rootbeer lived in a foster home where he earned rave reviews for being a well-behaved, loving, and fun companion. It didn't take long before he was adopted and became a loving, devoted little brother to another dog.
Sadly, two years later, Rootbeer's adopters moved across the country to care for family members, and they couldn't take him with them. We always take our dogs back, and we are committed to finding Rootbeer a forever home where he will be loved at least as much as he loves his stuffies!
Rootbeer has been living in a Foster home since the beginning of September. His foster mom reports:
"Rootbeer is the perfect combination of sweet and spunky. There have been some challenges, but it's so heartwarming to see him flourish! Here are some of his favorite things:
Sleeping in: He absolutely loves curling up under the covers! He quickly learned that he has to share the bed with all five of us. In the mornings, when I'm getting them up to go potty, by the time I slip on my shoes, he's already snuggled back on the couch, protesting the 5am wake up call!
Walks: As soon as he realizes we're going, he bounces around and barks like a little madman! When he first came home, he was always pulling at the front of the pack, but now he enjoys a leisurely stroll, taking in all the delightful smells.
Stuffies: Rootbeer is still crazy about his stuffed toys! He loves to play with us and is a total fetch fiend.
Cuddles: He adores affection and being in a lap. If you're giving him enough love, he'll rub his face against you; if not, he'll gently paw at you to demand some more attention. Just beware-he'll shower you with the cutest kisses!
More fun facts about good boy Rootbeer:
* He can be left out while you are gone and doesn't get into anything. We would monitor him on camera, and he is quiet, no barking.
* He is fully potty trained, and he hasn't had a single accident. And he goes right away outside, which is super helpful when juggling three dogs on a walk
* He has just the right amount of energy, he is always up for a walk but also loves sleeping in and taking naps. If you are busy, he is content to lounge or chew on a stuffie by himself.
* He is very agile. He has no problems getting up into the car or onto the furniture by himself. We are able to pick him up if he needs help during our adventures.
Going slow when handling him is a must. Rootbeer requires a little bit of effort to make him feel safe and comfortable but he is so easy to love and so worth it! We absolutely adore Rootbeer."
