Here's what the humans have to say about me:
As fearful as Sovereign was when she first arrived at Shiba HQ, she has been progressing decently each day. She's inquisitive and curious, and doing fine with the resident dogs.

Hi everyone, my name is now Sovereign. I am a tiny Black and Tan Shiba Inu rescued from an Arkansas breeding facility with 8 other Shiba Inus. My name is a Fourth of July/Freedom theme name! I am a small and dainty female Shiba who is estimated to be 5 years old. My foster mom noticed I have crooked teeth and may need some extra dental work. I am a shy and gentle Shiba Inu. I am the last one to come up to my foster mom, but when I see all the other dogs go to her, I will eventually come up to be loved on and get pets with the other dogs. When I first arrived at Shiba HQ, I tried to make myself tinier than I already am so that no one would see me and nothing bad would happen. I cowered in a corner behind the other Shibas. Eventually, I got a bath with another black and tan Shiba, and I just froze until the years of dirt was washed off and my painfully long nails were trimmed. My foster mom noticed I was the only one who didn’t have any accidents in the house. I always hate being in a crate. I would put myself away in the corner bed to sleep. I didn’t eat for a few days, too. But if my foster mom leaves my food out I take little nibbles when no one is watching. I graduated to being free-range in the house by my second night! I haven’t learned the doggie door yet but I am not destructive. I am learning to trust people and get along with everyone including the resident cat who sometimes sleeps in bed with me! I hope that I will get a forever home when all my medical is done. Could it be you?
