Introducing the sweetest man, Bronco! Bronco adores his belly rub time with his human`s best of all! Bronco is leash trained, but can sometimes be a strong puller on walks. He is learning how to walk more loose with Volunteer and Staff friends, so we know that with continued practice and opportunities, he will keep learning! If you have a fenced in backyard, he would also really enjoy this as he loves the play yards at the shelter and the ability to explore at his own pace!

Bronco is already housetrained, which will certainly bring ease to the transition home for him for the both of you. Whether it`s looking too cool for school with his sunglasses on (see pictures in his slide show!), or swimming in the doggy pools we have at the shelter, Bronco is always making us smile and laugh. He`s easy going, adaptable and smart! Meet him today.

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day!
For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites.
For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.

Adoption Fees:
$80 cats & kittens up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older

The Austin Animal Center is open for adoptions every day from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please note, Adoption and Pet Resource Center lines close at 6:00 p.m. We're closed Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Thanksgiving Day to give our staff some time with family.
Interested adopters should come to the shelter during business hours to meet with a counselor start looking for a pet who'll be a good fit. Our counselors and volunteers are happy to help with that process.
