Hi, I’m Duncan! I’m a 6(ish) year old French Bulldog looking for a family that’s willing to take on a special needs boy. I am crate trained and house broken. I am good on a leash and love to go for walks-though I do need to work on my manners when it comes to meeting new people and losing any of my toys under the couch. My two favorite things are to play ball and go for car rides! I do NOT like other dogs, cats, or small animals so I will need to be the only love of your life. I’m a little too busy to be a cuddle bug but I promise to play anytime you want and I’m really, really good at making people laugh! While I am a very sweet, playful, funny guy I do come with a plethora of allergies and skin issues that are going to be a lifelong battle for me and my forever family. My allergies are severe and I will require a home that has the financial ability to take care of me. I MUST be on Apoquel daily and will require a monthly Cytopoint injection along with the Apoquel when allergy season hits. I also require a special prescription food. The lucky person who gets me will have to keep up the care routine my foster family does for me every day in order to keep my skin issues from flaring up, which include a wiping my wrinkles and problem areas down with antifungal wipes, using a special foam when I start to get itchy, and regular ear maintenance, cleaning and medication. Needless to say, my person needs to have experience with giving meds and wipe downs to a dog that’s always on the move. I’m a bit bougie, but I’m worth it: on a GOOD month my expenses will be around $300, so I’m looking for a family with some cash to spare. I do get chronic ear and skin infections that will require lots of vet visits and antibiotics, so you can expect some months to be $500+ on my care. It is very important that I find someone who is willing and financially able to take care of me, because I have a substantial history of severe skin and ear infections. When I came to TPBP a few months ago, it was due to an untreated skin infection that developed into a very antibiotic resistant staph infection and took months of treatment for me to get any relief and grow my hair back. It would be great to find a family who could go above and beyond for me, such as consulting allergy and skin specialists and nutritionists to give me the best, most comfortable life possible. What do you get in return? I’m an adorable boy and about the best adventure buddy you could hope for. Let’s go!
Due to high volume, inquiries made on petfinder and adoptapet will not be answered. Please complete an application here https://toledospetbullproject.com/adoption-application-1
