My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet April, a boxer-heeler mix(?) with a heart of gold and a zest for life that's contagious. This medium-to-high energy dynamo was once overlooked in a Houston shelter, but since being rescued from the kill list, she's been shining bright and ready to light up the world of her lucky forever family.

April has a stunning white coat with brown spots that glistens like a field of fresh daisies in the sun, perfectly complementing her bubbly and friendly personality. She bounces through life with an enthusiasm that's hard to match, always eager to explore, play, and make memories with her loved ones.

But don't let April's playful nature fool you; she's got a brain as sharp as her smile. This girl is a quick learner and loves nothing more than being rewarded for doing as she's told. She's a star pupil in the making, eager to please and ready to impress at every turn.

Social butterfly? You bet. April adores the company of both humans and other dogs, spreading joy and love wherever she goes. She's the kind of pup who can turn any frown upside down with just a tail wag and a gentle nuzzle, radiating warmth and affection with every interaction.

April is a true gem, a blend of beauty, brains, and boundless energy just waiting for the right match to join her in life's adventures. If you're seeking a devoted companion who's always up for a good time and a loving snuggle, April might just be the perfect fit for you. Are you ready to welcome this ray of sunshine into your heart and home? April is eagerly waiting to start her next chapter with you by her side. Shes crate and leash trained, intelligent and intuitive, easy to train and eager to please. April is a well-spring of joy, she is perpetually happy and oozes a zest for life. She will be the most successful with an active family.

She also LOVES to swim!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

People can submit an adoption application

2.

Interview

First we do reference checks, THEN we do a full 1 to 1.5 hr interview with the applicant

3.

Home Check

Home checks used to be done in person but lately we do a zoom walk through of the home, checking especially the backyard and crate set up

4.

Meet the Pet

If the dog is here in Canada they can do a meet and greet to finalize that they are in fact who they say they are and a good match

5.

Approve Application

we would send an email approving the adopter (or declining if they aren't approved)

6.

Sign Adoption Contract

We would send the adoption contract which they would fill out and send back.

7.

Pay Fee

They would transfer the adoption fee to cover transport costs and vetting of the dog. Then they would come pick up the dog from the foster.

Additional adoption info

No other additional information. Some of our dogs are adopted as soon as they come up on a "foster-to-adopt" trial period to ensure the perfect match.
