Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Liesel von Elsfleth is a stunning 1-2 year old black and red long haired German Shepherd. She has been sharing a foster home with her sister, but her foster parents thought she will do better with a male dog to keep her company. You all know how sisters can be. They still love each other, but they need their own homes. When the foster mom was at the hospital, and her husband came to pick her up, he brought Elke and Liesel along. They drew such a crowd, it was like Taylor Swift was making an appearance. They are two spectacular dogs. Liesel loves to play with other dogs and needs a big yard to run and get some of her energy out. She rides well in the car and is very well behaved in public. Because of her wonderful personality, she goes everywhere with her foster parents. She is housebroken and walks well on leash now. Her foster dad has been working with her on her leash skills, and all she needs now is a little reminder from time to time. Send in your application for Liesel; her foster parents can tell you so much more about her.
Rescued from the Riverside animal shelter.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN Liesel von Elsfleth YOU MUST FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: www.sheprescue.org
Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.

In order to adopt any dog from Westside German Shepherd Rescue, one must fill out an adoption application first. Upon receipt of your application, a Westside adoption counselor will contact you.We do aerial home checks and you may be asked to supply pictures as well as arranging for a home visit prior to adoption.
Adoption fees vary with each dog and typically range from $150 to $500. They are set, taking into account the dog's age, training level, temperament, if they’re newly arrived, medical condition(s) (if any) and other factors. Adoption fees are used not only to rescue and place the dog you are personally adopting, but to aid in the future rescue and rehabilitation of other deserving dogs. Adoption fees are necessary; without fees, our rescue efforts would quickly come to an end. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations.
